Manga tutorial, draw Akuma from Street fighter.

Manga tutorial, draw Akuma from Street fighter. Learn how to draw Manga way, Street Fighters' characters. Akuma (the great Demon). Drawing and sketching technique for manga, can also be used in any cartoon and comics. Learn to draw with insight from Video and step by step tutorial.

Akuma's head has a very almost rectangular rather than typical taper down egg shape. His facial structure demonstrated masculinity, agression and power. Before you start drawing, it is very useful if you can look at any subject and able to break it down into simple geometry shapes. In this case, you can see strong rectangular shapes and random flame on top as his hair. Breaking your subject down into simple shape is a very good observation exercise for artists. It can be a lot easier when you already know the geometric structure of the subject.

Akuma (in Japanese, "Devil") known in Japan as Gouki (豪鬼 Gōki lit. Great Demon?), is a video game character from the Street Fighter series of fighting games. Akuma made his debut in Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a secret character and hidden boss. In the storyline of the Street Fighter video games, he is the younger brother of Gouken, Ryu and Ken's sensei. In some games he also has an enhanced version named Shin Akuma, or Shin Gouki (真・豪鬼?, the "true Gouki") in Japanese. Akuma has maroon hair, wears prayer beads around his neck, a charcoal gray dogi and a piece of twine around his waist in lieu of an obi. The kanji 'ten' (天) - meaning "sky/heaven", (all in the spiritual sense) - can be seen on his back when it appears during certain win animations. Shin Akuma's appearance is very similar to Akuma's; for example, in the Street Fighter Alpha series, Shin Akuma had a purple gi instead of a gray one and marginally lighter tone. Akuma's introduction in Super Street Fighter II Turbo stemmed from the development team's desire to introduce a "mysterious and really powerful" character, with his status as a hidden character within the game resulting from later discussions.

Below is an easy drawing diagram break down in geometry shapes of Akuma's face. It will be really easy to get the proportion right for beginner.
Here is a final quick Manga sketch of Akuma

Below is a video Manga drawing instruction of Akuma from Street Fighter.

Below step by step images of drawing Manga lesson to complement with the video tutorial, How to draw Akuma from Street Fighters.

1-3) I am just trying to sketch out the structure of the overall shape of the Akuma. At this point, do not worry so much about little detail, try to get the most accurate big shape of the subject you are drawing first.
in 4) I already have the foundation sketch, then I can just add in eyes, nose, mouth, and hair base on the construction line you already have. There are vertical line and horizontal lines to establish the facial structure as instruct on the video tutorial.

5-6) Now we begin to see Akuma's face forming in the accurate facial structure. At this point, try to get his facial structure as accurate as it can be. Drawing correctly or accurately is better than getting more lines or add in detail to cover up the mistake or the unsure area, accuracy first then detail. Once you get your structure right, you will most likely have a great drawing without having to put in hours and hours.

Hope you enjoy the tutorial, see you on the next one.
